ABOUT ME
The thread that consistently weaves through my educational, professional and volunteer experiences is that I passionately pursue helping those in need achieve a better quality of life for themselves. My experiences helping young adults earn their high school diplomas, volunteering with youth from underserved communities, initiating a summer camp mental health and wellbeing training program for staff, coordinating a city-wide aid program for seniors living in poverty, not to mention my Social Work undergraduate degree and Master’s degree, have all culminated in the realization that Occupational Therapy is the profession that I have been gravitating towards all this time. This realization sent me on a 2-year journey in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MScOT) program.
This portfolio depicts my journey in the past two years in the MScOT program at the University of Toronto. There, I have had the opportunity to hone my skills, gain new knowledge, and further develop my professional competencies. The knowledge and the clinical practice experience that I have gained in the past 2 years have set me up for success in my future career in healthcare. In the following pages, I provide examples and evidence of the experience that I have gained during my time at the MScOT program highlighting my educational, fieldwork, and volunteering achievements.
